SoberShift Privacy Policy (Effective 2026)
Your privacy is our North Star. SoberShift is built local-first: the free crisis tools run entirely in your browser.
- Minimal data: We do not ask for your name or phone number. Signed-out coping tools don’t save what you type. Notes and craving-log drafts are saved on this device. Signed-in craving logs and selected progress records are stored with your account. SoberShift is not a healthcare provider and does not offer a HIPAA BAA.
- Local processing: Tool-use metadata, remembered private keys, notes, and craving drafts are stored in this device’s local storage. Account records include the generated private key or sign-in address, focus choices, sober start date, and selected recovery logs. Account records can be read after sign-in; local notes do not sync between devices.
- Email notifications: If you ask us to email you when something we offer changes, we store the email address you enter and use it only to send that notice. It is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and is not linked to your app usage.
- Analytics: We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free page analytics (Plausible) that count visits and button taps. Plausible does not receive what you type into coping tools. Signed-in logs you save are sent to your account storage. We do not sell, rent, or lease your data.
